We have a new student. Her name is Lilly. She is a good student. I like her. She is a very nice friend. Lilly is a pretty friend. Lilly has a pretty purple shirt on today. Miss Gang said, "I am so happy Lilly joined our class."

We had math. We did double addition.  For example 1+1=2 or 6+6=12.  We played a double game.  First, we shook the die.  Then we made a double addition sentence. We covered the answer with a chip.  Da'Zerius said, "Math was fun".

Today was Hannah's birthday.  It was fun.  We had cupcakes.  The were all the same flavor.  They looked pretty.  They were Christmas colors.  They had rings in them.  Hannah said, "It was fun having my birthday at school".

We went to an assembly. We heard some songs.  We saw a lot of friends from 4th and 5th grade. They were playing instruments like clarinets, trumpets, violins, drums, cellos and flutes.  They worked very hard. Ishaal said, "The concert was good".

We read The Gingerbread Man. The Gingerbread man ran out of the book.  We had to find him. We looked and looked. Ishaal found him by the Christmas tree. We put him back in the book so we could read the story.  In the story, a little old lady and little old man made a gingerbread man.  He ran away.  In the end, the fox eats the Gingerbread man. Aviona said, "my favorite part was when Ishaal found the gingerbread man."

We are making Christmas lights at PIT time. They are not real Christmas lights. They are made out of paper. They are very colorful. We are writing our names on them. Alexzandra has the most letters. She has ten letters. AJ has the least letters. He has two letters. We will put a picture of our project on Facebook. Adam said, "They are cool!"

We have a new student. Her name is Aviona. She is fun to play with. She is pretty. She is nice. Brynn colored two pictures for her. She is Maggie's new partner. We can already tell she is going to be a great friend. Elizabeth made a picture for her in Daily 5. Aviona said, "I think it was fun being here." 

We wondered how many seeds could we find in an apple. We ate an apple. We found some seeds. We counted our seeds and put them in a plastic baggie. We all found and counted different numbers. Katlyn found 3 seeds.  Khalil found 4 seeds. Ishaal also found 4 seeds. Nevaeh and Jacey found the most. They found 7.  Janaii said, "Apples are fun to eat".

We just planted some seeds. They were onions, carrots and radishes. Those are roots. We are going to water them. We planted them because we are learning about plants. Vegetables are healthy. Miss Gang said, "I can't wait to see them grow!" 

We had Jefferson Fest today.  We had it today because we will be getting report cards and it is the end of the quarter.  At the end we did a dance with Ms. Sage.  Mrs. Wall called some of us to stand up to receive awards.  Brynn said, "I had fun."

We colored fruits and vegetables on post its. We are going to be learning more about fruits. We colored over our flip book from yesterday to make it look prettier. We wrote leaf on a poster and Mairin added a picture of lettuce. We wrote roots on our poster and Daniel add a radish. We wrote stem on our poster and Da'Zerius added celery. We wrote flower on our poster and Brookelyn added a picture of broccoli. Elizabeth said, "All this talking about food is making me hungry!"

We learned about the parts of a plant. We read books about plants. Some of them were about cacti. Now we want to know if we can eat a cactus plant. We watched Brain Pop. We made pictures on a flip book about the parts of a plant. Nevaeh said, "The think lesson was fun".

A Halloween Kind of Day

We like math. We counted beans and pattern blocks. We wrote number sentences. The sidekicks are working on number 5 and the supers are working on number 7. Aiden said,"I had fun".

We did a lot of fun pumpkin activities today.  There were three pumpkins all together. One was big, one was small and one was medium sized. We dug out seeds. We counted to see which one had the most. We read a book about pumpkins. We drew pictures of pumpkins. The middle sized pumpkin had the most seeds.  We measured the circumference yesterday. Liliah said, "I liked digging out the seeds"  Happy Birthday Liliah! 

Pumpkin Farm

We had nice day at the pumpkin farm. We fed goats.  We went on a hay ride.  We got to pick a pumpkin and a gourd.  Maggie's mom came and fed the goats too.  Henry's dad came.  We watched a puppet show. We saw 4 turkeys.  Avelina's mom came. Brynn's dad came.  Sarai's grandpa came.  Miss April said, "I am so glad that I was able to join you".

Pumpkin Farm

We played on Dream Box.  Dream Box is a math game on the computers.  It is fun. There are a lot of different games we can play.  We played it in the computer lab.  One game is an arcade.  We can learn a lot from it.  Khalil said, "I can't wait until we can play Dream Box at home!"

We learned about badgers.  They can eat animals like squirrels, chipmunks, mice, and snakes. Their favorite food is earthworms. They dig holes.  They have sharp teeth.  They have sharp claws. Their claws are longer than a man's fingers. They have special eyes to keep out the dirt.  They have a good sense of smell. Ishaal said, "Badgers are cute".

We learned about Owls today. Owls are quiet when they catch food. They fly silently.  They have good wings so they can fly. After they eat, they regurgitate the bones. Owls hoot.  Katlyn said, "Owls are cute!" 

Fire Safety Week

We talked with firefighters from West Allis all about being fire safe.

Playground fun

We learned about bats. Some bats have sharp teeth. Bats can be different sizes. Some bats have big wings. Bats eat insects, fruit, fish, and frogs. Bats can be different colors. Bats hang upside down. Collin said, "Bats are scary".

We went to the computer lab. We got to pick a fun book from the library.  For now, our library books are staying in our book bins.  While we waited to get our books, we played Raz-kids.  Zachary said, "We had a great day".

Mrs. Gengler was not here today. We had fun at school but we missed her. We had a substitute named Mrs. Johnson. We also had recess. Mrs. Gengler was missed. Hannah said, "We had a blast!"

I'm here accepting an award for all the hard work students at Jefferson do.

It was a rainy day. We went outside for lunch recess. When we went outside for afternoon recess, it started to rain. Rainy days make Katlyn think of thunder. Rainy days feel damp and a little wet. Collin liked that it wasn't raining at lunch recess. Rain makes Nevaeh feel happy because she has a new umbrella. At recess we had to rush inside because it started raining. Even if we have to come in really fast, we have to get silent as soon as we reach the building. Tyrese said, "I liked the rain."

We had fun at recess. We played wolves. We played on the swings. We played on the slide. We had fun on the monkey bars. We had a blast. Daniel said, "I was on the playground".

We did math today. The sidekicks solved problems in their problem solving book. The supers drew double digit numbers. Mrs. Kozlosky said, "We worked very hard in Math today."

We had a fun day. Elizabeth liked Math. Nadia liked recess. Avelina liked the computers. Caylie liked drawing the three bears. Aiden liked recess. Alexzandra liked playing outside with Jacey for a little bit. Adam liked lunch. Khalil liked Letter Friends. Samantha liked play time. Brookelyn liked collecting pretend wolves in her scarf with Henry. DaZarius had fun at recess. Collin had fun writing. Mairin liked recess. Liliah liked drawing the three bears. Katlyn liked the computers. Grayson liked playing wolves with Brookelyn and Henry and a couple more people too. Miss April liked playing Knights Pizza restaurant with Liliah and Grayson and Christian. Miss Gang liked watching the students work together. Tyrese liked recess because Miss April pushed him high on the swing.  

We read a book about Goldilocks and the three bears. Goldilocks opened the door and went inside the bear's house. She ate the baby bear's porridge. Goldilocks broke the baby bear's chair.  She fell asleep in the baby bear's bed. Goldilocks ran away because the bears scared her. She jumped out of the window. It was fun reading the story. Brookelyn said, "It was fun reading"

We learned about wolves. There is a big bad wolf in the story of The Three Little Pigs. The baby wolves today were sooooooo cute. We also read a story about Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig. There was a scary part in the wolf video. Wolves are very big.  

Today we worked together. That means "COLLABORATE". We drew pictures to retell The Three Little Pigs. We had to draw the characters. We had to draw the setting. We liked drawing the houses. We had to take turns. Sofi said, "I made the brick house."

We colored Superheroes. the Superheroes have rules. Rule #1 is Raise your hand to talk. Rule #2 is Be a good listener. Rule #3 is Make smart choices. Rule #4 is Be kind to everyone. Rule #5 is Follow directions quickly and Rule # 6 is Make your dear teachers happy. Maggie said, "We have motions for our rules."

We had a good snack. It was pudding. It was chocolate. The covers were hard to get off. We each got a spoon. It was really good. AJ said, "We had a blast!"

Today we went to recess. We played outside on the monkey bars. We swung on the swings. Katelyn saw Mason. We love recess. Zachary said, "In the morning it was cold but in the afternoon it was warmer."

Today was Brynn's birthday. She brought cupcakes. They had pencils in the ribbon. The cupcakes were vanilla and chocolate. They were in a cup with a fork. The cupcakes were in a little plastic bag. We liked them. Brynn had pretty bracelets today. Connor said he didn't like the frosting. Many of us loved the frosting. Brynn said, "My mom ordered one type of frosting but they gave us the wrong thing." Mrs. Kozlosky said, "The cupcakes were great anyway".

We had Daily 5. One of our choices was to learn on our i pads. There was a spelling game and a bingo math game and Raz kids. Another choice was the "Thinking" station where we read non-fiction books. Another choice was listening to books. Samantha said, "It was fun".

We had math.  Mrs. Gang's group played a game to see who could get to 100 first.  Mrs. Gengler's group wrote the number one and played with math box toys. Mrs. Kozlosky's group counted squares and wrote in our math journals. Janaii said, "Math was fun today."
