Our Two Cents

We made it through the first month of school. It is always the hardest part of the year. It's hot. It's new. It's all a bit confusing (even to the teachers)  Everything is coming together and we owe it all to the terrific kids that make up Team Inspire.

 

We have many many volunteers for our trip to the Pumpkin Farm. We can only take a handful on the trip. If  you are not one of the chosen parents for this trip, we will definately take you on the trip to the zoo in March.

Next week has many special "spirit days"

Monday - Pajama Day

Tuesday - School Spirit (red and black)

Wednesday - Work out gear - National ride your bike to school day.

Thursday - Team spirit (yellow and black day)

Friday - Sport spirit

 



We exercised today.  We did jumping jacks. We did scissor kicks.  We danced to the gummy bear song.  We tried to break a world record.  Max said,"It was a blast".

The whole school went for a world record by exercising for one minute all together. It was a fun way to stay healthy.

Miss Colleen comes to Jefferson Elementary school.  She is a teenager.  In the afternoon, she helps us. She takes us to the bathroom.  In the morning she goes to high school.  She works at Cousins.  Aryana said,"She is nice".

We had fun during centers.  Some of us made a M&M graph.  Some of us played marbles.  Some of us looked at leaves on our i-pads.  When the lights go off, we clean up.  Aubrey said,"we had fun".

Happy Birthday to Deja and Aubrey. We hope you have a great day.

 We work hard during Daily 5.

We had snack.  We had a blast because it was cupcakes.  We had cupcakes because it is Deja's birthday tomorrow.  They had pink frosting. Deja said,"It was fun".

Team Inspire teachers had a great time this weekend walking for a cure.  We walked with other Jefferson teachers in support of our very own 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Leighton who is fighting a battle with breast cancer.

We had morning meeting.  We are learning about our calendar.  We learn the days of the week.  We get smarter and smarter.  We learned new gestures.  One of them is "basket, basket, basket". We learned "firecracker". We learned "oh yeah Mrs. K".  Elizabeth said,"This was great".

We had Daily 5.  Writing is one of our choices.  We get pennies to put in a jar when we are ready to learn. If you are not quiet, you lose a penny.  You can read to self or read to a partner.  Some of us use i-pads. Evan said,"We had a blast".

We went to gym.  We were walking on the lines.  We were playing with balls and we had to catch them. Mr. K is our gym teacher.  Jocelyn said, "The End".

We went outside.  We went on the monkey bars.  We played on the slide.  We went on the swings.  We played different things.  Krystal said,"We went outside two times".

We did Morning Meeting. We listened to songs about "Good Morning". We learned about the seasons. We listened to a song about counting by fives and tens.  We sang about the seven days in our week. LuiSandro said, "We had a blast!"

We listened to a story called Caillou.
He left his toys everywhere. He forgot to pick them up. He had to put them all away. Then he got to eat chocolate pudding. His mom and dad had to keep calling him to come and clean up his toys. He left his toys in the driveway. Caillou's daddy thought maybe they needed to make a big toybox. Then it was THE END.

We ate snack.  It was super good.  It was made out of marshmallows and rice crispie cereal.  It was the best. Kevin said, "Me and my grandpa bought it from the store."

We lost our i-pod for listening center. Mrs. Kozlosky looked in her desk. She didn't see it there. Finally she looked in her little drawer. Luckily Mrs. Kozlosky found it. Aria said, "When we found it, we were happy."

We have ipads in our classroom. We get to play games on them. We have to take them out carefully. One of our rules is use a soft touch. There are games. We play different kinds of games. Trinity said, "We had a blast!"

We had snack.  We ate Chex mix.  Lexi brought in the snack.  It had pretzels. It had Cheerios. It had Chex cereal. It was a healthy snack. Lexi said,"It was delicious".

We went to music. We did a fun song. It was an American song. It was a song about how we love America. It was fun.

We went outside for recess. We went on the swings. We went on the monkey bars. We went on the slides. We went on the bridge. We had fun!

We did a project. We colored a handprint. We used orange, yellow and red. They are warm colors. It was fun.
